2025 Campervan Rental Season: Wrap-Up!
Wow! What a year. I have been so excited to write this blog post to summarize and share how the season went! I actually started writing this and it didn’t get saved :(, so here we are, take 2!
Before I get into everything, I just wanted to give credit and praise to who is most important. That is God. I am not typically an outwardly spiritual person or outspoken in terms of religious matters, but God has been good to me, my business, and my renters. I am not trying to push this on anyone, but I wanted to acknowledge this. Right after each rental departs, I pray for the van that goes out and the people traveling with it. I also try to pray for all my renters out on the road each and every day for protection and guidance. There are many things that can go wrong during travel, especially on road-trips! With that being said, lets get into some stats that reflect how God has been good!
Given, that I graduated in accounting and worked as an auditor, I find statistics quite fun. Skip this part if you hate numbers haha.
Vans in the fleet = 8 Total Renters = 98 (Marvin led with 18)
Total days of vacations = 1067
Avg length of vacation = 10.89 days
Longest trip = 40 days
Engagements (marriage lol) = at least 2 that I know of haha
KM’s travelled = 199,426 km (Big Blue led with 30,974km)
Avg km per van for 2025 = 24,928 km
Avg km per reservation = 2035 km
Breakdowns = 1 (back on the road the next day)
Accidents = 0 (Insurance claims also 0)
Okay, lets get into a breakdown of the season now! The first notable story comes from a solo traveller that took Jayne out for 32 days. She had an incredible time experiencing the mountains of the interior and even went into the plains of Alberta. The crazy part happened during her time in Revelstoke. A wind storm rolled in. Trees swaying back and forth, threatening to topple. My renter carefully peering outside the van, hoping that nothing would fall nearby. And this is where I thank God for answered prayers. Not only did multiple trees fall, but one narrowly missed her van by 2 meters! Now, I don’t want you to think this is common in Canada… but nature has to be respected. The amazing part is when you have God on your side, thats a powerful aid! Here is a picture showing which tree fell beside her campsite.

Review from this rental :)
“I spent a month traveling with Jayne and had a fantastic time. She was my home away from home, a place where I felt comfortable and safe. This was also thanks to Quennel's excellent service. You can tell how much he cares about his renters being able to enjoy a wonderful, carefree time without any hassle. He's always available and helpful if you have any problems . . . I can't praise the amenities enough. It's very clean, you have everything you need, and Quennel shows and explains everything during the handover. I was especially grateful for the shower and the heated blanket. I used them quite often. Thank you so much for your work, Quennel! You helped make my trip an unforgettable experience!” -Nadine-

As you saw in the statistical breakdown of the season, my vans sometimes travel LONG distances! This was no exception for Lenny! She was out for 21 days, eclipsing around 8000km with 2 travellers from Victoria, BC! They went down the coast of the USA and back up through pretty much every national park. What made it better was that because Q Campervans is pet friendly, they were able to bring both their dogs. An interesting point about travel to the USA, is that only 3/98 of my renters this season visited our neighbours below. It was very evident that the trade war with the USA discouraged many people from voyaging south. In no way am I judging these renters for travelling to the US, but I did find it interesting that even in my small company, I noticed this trend! Below are some pictures from their trip.
Much of the highway is right along the coast, creating one of the most scenic drives in the USA.

My friend and I (and our two dogs) recently rented through Q Campervans and had a great experience! We were lucky enough to rent Lenny for 3 weeks to explore the California coast/national parks and it was such an amazing adventure! Quennel was a fantastic host - easy to work with, quick to respond, and clearly loves seeing his customers/vans go on the best adventures. Lenny worked great for us and we didn’t have any mechanical issues on the road! He was the perfect mix of fun yet practical. It was nice to have the shower as needed and we especially loved having all the windows. Would love to rent from Q again and definitely recommend his company for your next fun road trip! -Veronica-
The Oregon Coast has seemingly endless pull-offs to enjoy the sunsets.
From Rocky Mountains to the deserts of southern California! Q Campervans has you covered!
Q Campervans continues to expand and improve its fleet from year to year. For the 2025 rental season, we introduced Beatrice and Walter. Beatrice was our classic design with full length windows and a fuel efficient (13L/100km) diesel engine. I had renters from Ontario take Beatrice out for one of her first trips. Initially, the USA tariff situation threatened their trip, as they were planning to go south! Luckily, they reconsidered and plotted off to explore the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island. With Walter, my first renters booked before the van was even finish! I was grateful for their trust in my vision and design to be what they expected. They also took Walter over to Vancouver Island. Below you’ll see what Beatrice and Walter look like!

We rented Beatrice from Q Campers and had the best time exploring Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, and mainland BC. The van was super comfortable — the bed was incredibly cozy, and the kitchen setup made campsite meals and dishes easy. We always felt safe and secure.
Quennel was super friendly, responsive, and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend Q Campers for a West Coast road trip! -Mackenzie-

Would give 6 stars if I could!
We had the best time renting Walter from Q. The whole process was so easy and Quennel was really communicative, answering all my questions and putting any worries to rest.
The van itself was amazing - it seems like all the vans are completed to a high spec and Walter is no different - so much thought and time has gone into it and it has everything we needed. So many other rental places charge extra for basics but Q includes everything. I really felt like I was getting value for money.
The additions are great too - firewood to get us started and a sick inflatable kayak which was great on the lakes. Pick up and drop off was super easy - Q kindly did it in double speed so we could make our ferry!
I would - and have - recommended Q Campervans to anyone wanting an adventure in the Vancouver area!

Every year, I have rentals that really stick out in my head. One preface to this is… and I want to make it clear… I have AMAZING renters. I appreciate each and every one. But when I reflect on some of the interactions I’ve had, these 2 stick out. The first was a couple from Germany, Judith and Korbinian. They departed on their trip, and everything was pretty standard. But when they returned, their converstation, kind words and overall positivity towards me and my business truly made my day. Incredible people, and if you’re reading this, I hope you know that interaction stuck with me! The second was a Dutch couple, Robert and Karin that took Big Blue all over the BC/Alberta rockies. Again, similar to the previously mentioned couple, they returned with such positivity. On that specific day, I personally was a bit down, but they genuinely turned my day around! I could’ve talked to both couples for hours about their trip and their experiences.
I have the best renters out of all the rental companies. ;)
Big Blue in the Canadian Rockies!
The last trip I will share is from another German renter who took Jayne into the Fraser Canyon. When I first met him for pick-up, I was so stressed because the weather looked miserable. Pouring rain. I threw in a free 10x10 tent canopy, because I just wanted to make sure he could make the best of his trip. But wow, did the weather bless him! Turns out in BC, what happens in Vancouver isn’t what is happening around the province! Just a couple hours northeast, he had no rain and INCREDIBLE views of the northern lights. He couldn’t stop raving about how great the trip was! A genuine and amazing surprise for me.

I had a wonderful time with the campervan! It was a great experience full of amazing moments and adventures. Quennel was very kind and helpful, and the van itself was in excellent condition, comfortable, reliable, and perfect for exploring. I’d definitely rent here again. Highly recommended! -Francesco-

Okay, I lied… One more trip haha. It was Walter’s last rental of the season with a great Austrian couple! 21 gorgeous days up the BC coast, across central BC from Prince Rupert, through the BC/Alberta rockies, then back down Highway 1 towards Vancouver. What a route! I should note, highly underrated! Many of my renters don’t venture past the northern tip of Vancouver Island, but these guys were adventurous enough to see the beauty of the coast, despite some lacklustre fall weather. I mean… with Walter by your side, its hard not to have an amazing time. And a time they had!! Here is some pictures and the route they went on!
For those that want the best of both worlds! The coast and the mountains!

“Everything was just perfect! The van was super clean, everything worked flawlessly – and the hot shower was an absolute dream. Charging while driving and through the solar panels worked brilliantly.
Quennel (the owner) is a genuinely friendly and helpful guy, and you can tell he takes great care of his vans. We had 21 wonderful days on the road with “Walter” – and honestly, how nice is it that the vehicles even have names? It really completes the whole experience.
We were very happy and can warmly recommend Quennel and his campervans!” -Cornelia-

This is genuinely what I love about my business and job! I get to help people from across the globe experience the beauty of North America! It is incredibly rewarding and I am so grateful for each and every renter that entrusts their vacation to Q Campervans.
One of the most interesting things about running this business is the constant wondering. “How are people enjoying the vans?”, “How’s the weather in various places across the continent?”, “Are the roads clear?”, “Are the renters having any mechanical trouble?”. I have gotten better and better at dealing with those worries and setting them aside until they truly present themselves. The off-season is the time I get to relax and now reflect. Luckily, this year has been an incredible success in all aspects. Very few mishaps, only 1 mechanical break down, 0 accidents, and infinite laughs and memories created. The conversations had, laughs shared, roads explored, and nature’s beauty observed were innumerable. A season to remember both for my renters and myself. God is Good. 2025 is in the books. See you next year! ;)
